In 2009, the MMP1917 was able to purchase an exceptionally large and well-preserved collection of inert munition. According to experts, such as the DOVO (Dienst voor Opruiming en Vernietiging van Ontploffingstuigen – the Belgian Office for the Disposal and Destruction of Explosive Harness) it regards the most comprehensive collection of WWI ammunition. The collection contains more than 1,500 objects, mainly artillery and hand-grenades and aerial bombs etc. Additionally, it contains a smaller volume of thrusting weapons, sniper plates, tools and shells.
