Approved by children

Museums too boring for children? Quite the opposite! Our museum is officially approved by and for children. We love nothing more than pampering you and your little one(s), and we hope you’ll feel right at home here. Thinking of visiting with a young explorer? On this page, you’ll find all the information you need, from practical details to family activities. We hope to see you soon!
Taking a trip to the Passchendaele Museum together
Discover and experience the story of the First World War and the Battle of Passchendaele in the interactive design of the museum. Authentic letters, uniforms and animations give both young and old an insight into how life must have been on and around the battlefields. Descend into the dugout and discover how the British went to live underground in 1917. The accurately reconstructed British and German trenches with shelters offer a unique experience and give a deeper insight into life at the front. The immersive experience ‘Passchendaele 1917’ shows the course of the battle and its impact on the landscape.
Family-friendly trail
Looking for an educational and fun family activity? Then the Passchendaele Museum is the perfect destination!
During your visit, children can enjoy the “On an Adventure with Lisa, Louis, and Maurice” trail for free. With a child-friendly audio guide and a foldable map, they’ll learn more about the Great War through play. Along the way, they’ll complete entertaining tasks.
Meanwhile, (grand)parents can follow their own trail at the same pace, guided by an audio guide.
