Incoming and permanent loans from other museums, institutions or private individuals still make up less than 10% of the museum’s total collection.
Le Napolitain
The Passchendaele Museum received the statuette, entitled Le Napolitain, from the current owners of Geluveld Castle.
The war completely destroyed Château de Geluveld. The statuette once stood in the Grand Salon. It was not included in the final list for compensation. Remarkably, the artwork survived the war and was rediscovered among the ruins.
Le Napolitain is on display in the “Geluveld Château” gallery (Geluveld Castle, Object 0.5.4.1, Koen Deprez).
At the same time, the number of outgoing loans increased, partly due to the centenary commemorations. The Passchendaele Museum is gradually developing into a fully-fledged partner institution for outgoing loans, both for national and international exhibitions in First World War museums.

Photographs, documents or other objects associated with a soldier or the Battle of Passchendaele are of great historical value.
