On the agenda

Dugout

Step into the reconstructed dugout to experience how the British lived underground in 1917.

Our dugout is a life-size representation, similar to the shelter that the Brits built a few hundred meters from here, under the Zonnebeke church.

Artillery room

A wall adorned with colourful grenades, resembling a work of art. However, each vibrant colour serves a purpose: identification. Discover their significance in the artillery room.

In the middle of the room you’ll discover a 150mm Krupp Kanon that belongs to the German army.

Immersive exhibition ‘Passchendaele 1917’

Enter the immersive exhibition and find yourself amidst the landscape of 1917. Through powerful visualisations, tailored music, and projected historical images, the Battle of Passchendaele is chronologically presented. An experience for all ages.

Trenches

Connecting the underground parts of the museum, these true-to-life British and German trenches offer a unique experience and give an even deeper insight into life at the front.

Echoes of War

The room ‘Echoes of War’ showcases the role of the landscape as a witness and bearer of war stories. Journey through the history of the landscape and follow the path of an ordinary soldier.
