The Passchendaele Museum in Zonnebeke has been included in the Michelin Green Guide Belgium 2025 with one Michelin star. This means the museum is considered “worth a visit” when you’re in the area, according to the guide.
The Michelin Green Guide is designed for curious travellers who not only want to visit a place, but also to truly understand and experience it. This aligns perfectly with the mission of the Passchendaele Museum: to share the story of the Battle of Passchendaele through experience, awareness and remembrance. The museum also acts as a gateway to the surrounding landscape, with a strong focus on the impact of total war.
Stars in the guide are awarded based on nine criteria and approved by a team of editors and writers. One star signifies “worth a visit”, with up to three stars possible for top-rated sites.
“This recognition is a real tribute to the dedication and enthusiasm of our entire team of staff and volunteers,” says Joachim Jonckheere, Chair of the Passchendaele Museum. “In recent years, the museum has undergone remarkable development. Since 5 April, visitors can discover the renewed museum, where an updated and more chronological storyline guides them step by step through the war years, enriched with an extensive display of collection pieces and personal stories. We’re proud that Michelin has now literally stamped this result as ‘worth a visit’.”
