You are here information centre

From 2014 the new information center of Zonnebeke is located in the former rectory, built in modernist style by architect Huib Hoste.

The center houses two large collections which preserve the heritage and history of the villages now belonging to the community of Zonnebeke.

The first, being the documentation center of the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 covers a range of reference books, an extensive map collection, photos and WWI archives focused on the Third Battle of Ypres (1917).

The second collection contains the library and archives of the Zonnebeke Heemvrienden dedicated on local customs and folklore. It holds both general and periodical works on local history.

During the upcoming commemorations of 2014-2018 the information centre plays a major role as a place of expertise for researchers, students or just interested individuals.

It is a place where any questions about the regions’ war history and heritage can be asked
